i) Infra-red absorption spectrum : Concordant with the reference spectrum of Rafoxanide
ii) Light absorption of a 0.004% : Absorbance at 280 nm, about 0.97 and at (w/v) solution in 0.1M
335 nm, about 0.59 melthanolic hydrochloric acid
c) Melting point : About 175°C
d) Related substances (by TLC method as per Amendment No.1, B. Vet. C., (1985) : passes
e) Loss on drying at 90°C (for 2 hrs): Loses not more than 0.5% of its weight at a pressure not exceeding 0.7 KPa
f) Sulphated ash : 0.1% (w/w) maximumg) Assay: 98 to 101% (w/w)
Shelf-life : Five years under normal storage conditions.
